The 100-Hour Yoga Therapy for Youth Certification is designed for professionals who are ready to commit to a comprehensive, progressive training experience supporting children, teens, and young adults.

This Teachable enrollment is for the full certification program only.
Individual public modules are not purchased separately through this page.

Participants enrolled in the certification complete both the Public Modules and the Certification-Only Modules as part of one integrated training pathway, learning spaciously with an average of two live meetings per month.

For children, teens, and young adults

Public Modules are standalone trainings that focus on specific populations or themes related to supporting children, teens, and young adults through therapeutic yoga and somatic practices.

Participants enrolled in the certification will take ALL Public Modules as part of the 100-hour training.

*Participation in the Live Zoom meetngs (certification-only modules) is a requirement for the completion of the Certification. Should there need to be 1 missed zoom meeting - you will need to watch the recording of the missed zoom meeting, write a reflection of what you learned and make up any missed group work or exercises practiced in the group meeting. Please note- there will only be 1 missed meetings allowed unless you have arranged an extenuating circumstance in advance with Shawnee.

You DO NOT have to attend the public module live - recordings will be made available if you are unable to attend live.

Yoga Therapy for Youth is officially a Member School with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).

This course is an APD course through IAYT and counts as 80 CEUs.

Shawnee Thornton Hardy

Shawnee Thornton Hardy is a yoga therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Ayurvedic wellness guide, and somatic touch facilitator. She is the founder of Embodied WellBeing Yoga Therapy, Asanas for Autism and Special Needs, and Yoga Therapy for Youth, and brings over three decades of experience working with diverse populations across all ages and stages of life. Her work is devoted to supporting children, teens, and young adults with neurodivergence, sensory processing differences, and complex needs—while also guiding the professionals who care for them. She is deeply passionate about helping individuals reconnect with their inner child through her trainings and offerings, supporting healing, play, and a return to authenticity.

With a deeply integrative and somatic approach, Shawnee weaves together yoga therapy, sensory integration, Polyvagal-informed practices, Somatic Experiencing, and embodied awareness to support regulation, resilience, and authentic expression. Her work is rooted in the understanding that behavior is communication, and that healing happens through safety, connection, and the body.

Shawnee is the creator of the C.A.L.M.M. Yoga Toolkit and Body Sensations Curriculum, and the author of Asanas for Autism and Special Needs and Yoga Therapy for Children and Teens with Complex Needs. She leads trainings and workshops internationally and serves as faculty for yoga therapy programs, mentoring practitioners in developing compassionate, inclusive, and effective approaches. When does the course start and finish?
The course begins March 22, 2026 and ends November 22, 2026
How long do I have access to the course?
You will have access to the course curriculum for 1 year from the start date.
Is the registration refundable?
The registration is non-refundable for any and all reasons. There will be NO exceptions. Should you not be able to attend the course for un-forseen circumstances you will have the option to transfer to a future online course. Please note - there is no guarantee when or if the course will be offered again.
Do I have to attend the Zoom Meetings?
Yes. Attendance in all of the Zoom meetings is a requirement for completion of the course. There are 2 missed in person meeting allowed. For missed meetings you will be expected to watch the recording and do a reflection of the missed meeting as well as make up any practices/assignments.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes, there is an option to pay all at once or in installments when you register.
Will I be a Certified Yoga Therapist when I complete this course?
No. Becoming a Certified Yoga Therapist requires enrollment in an 800+ hour accredited yoga therapy program. You will receive a 100-hour Yoga Therapy for Youth Certificate upon completion of the course.
Does this course offer CEU's?
This course in an approved APD course through the IAYT - International Association of Yoga Therapists. The course offers 80 CEU's through IAYT.
Will I have contact with the faculty and other participants for this course?
Yes. You will have the opportunity to learn from and connect with the faculty in the scheduled Zoom meetings.
Do I need to be a yoga teacher or have yoga experience to take the course?
Yes. The pre-requisites for the course are completion of the Level 1 and Level 2 Trainings through Asanas for Autism and Special Needs or a 200 hour RYT certification.
